This is probably one of the most often asked questions we receive. How much a paintball hurts often depends on how much padding or protection you wear. If you are only dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, you can expect anything from a light sting to a welt, while a sweatshirt or other thick clothing will help reduce these effects. We recommend a long sleeve shirt, jeans, and comfortable running shoes. Any hits on exposed skin will naturally sting more! However, often times you’ll discover that due to adrenaline you didn’t feel the hit at all!
Yes, and safer then you realize! There are more injuries sustained playing golf then playing paintball on a commercially run, safe field, where safety is strictly enforced. Research published by the Minnesota Paintball Association has argued that paintball is one of the statistically safest sports to participate in, with 20 injuries per 100,000 players annually and these injuries tend to be incidental to outdoor physical activity (e.g. trips).
We are able to have pizza delivered every Saturday and Sunday available for purchase along water. We also have vending machines so bring your change!!
We accept Visa/Mastercard/AMEX & CASH. NO CHECKS or Canadian funds accepted – Sorry for any inconvenience!
I'm bringing out a group of kids that are under 18 years of age. Do they all have to have waivers signed by their parent/legal guardian before coming out?
Yes! All players require a waiver to be filled out and signed by their legal guardian if under the age of 18. You can download the waiver on this site, print it out, and have the parent sign.
It’s recommended that you fill out the digital waiver online at www.gobigpaintballpark.com/waiver
Typically the drive takes around 25 minutes from Bellingham to the park located in 2149 East Badger rd in Lynden. From the Canadian border it’s only a few miles.
Of course! Effective May 1, 2012, we are now offering airsoft at the park. This means you can show up on the weekend and play on our back field. We are a BIO only bb facility. You can bring your own BB’s to the field as long as they are BIO. Out of season we do NOT stock bb’s in our pro shop.
No! The reason being is due to insurance (we have to control what type of paintballs are being shot at our guests) and environment (we only use plant based paintballs which are safe for the environment and are biodegradable…cheap paintballs you find at a lot of big box stores are full of nasty oils which are bad for not only the environment, but stain your clothes!)
No! Because we use plant based, biodegradable type paintballs, the paint easily washes out of clothing. However, we recommend you wash your clothes as soon as you get home. Letting any sort of dye sit on your clothing for an extended period of time is asking for trouble!
It really depends on two things: how long you’re planning on playing for and how trigger happy you are. Typically a case of paint (a case is 2,000 paintballs) will last two people for about 2 hrs. If you’re more trigger happy though this time will definitely be less. If you’re playing with a pump gun a case of paint should last you the entire day!
Yes! We’re open rain or shine Saturday and Sunday.
If you’re late for a reservation (example, your reservation is for 10:00 – 12:00 and you arrive at 10:30), your reservation time will still end at 12:00 (we typically have back to back reservations so as soon as one private group is finished another one is there to start playing). HOWEVER, the good news is you can still stay and play until the park closes (typically around 4:00-4:30) but instead of private use of the fields, your group will be considered ‘walk ons’ and will join other players. Our experience has been that private groups love to play with other groups!
The park is open Saturdays/Sundays from 9:00 – 4:00 for walk-ons and private parties. Monday – Friday, the park is available for PRIVATE PARTIES only.
The minimum age a player has to be is 10 years old! Due to our insurance conditions no exceptions can be made. Sorry!
If you’re comfortable leaving your child at our facility you’re more than welcome. However, we can’t be responsible for what your child does off the paintball field! Be sure if you do leave your child you leave a cell phone or other form of communication so they can get in touch with you. We do not have electricity or a phone out at the park.
No. The rental packages includes the gun, mask and air tank but no paintballs.
Is there a better time of day to come out and play? i.e. more people vs fewer, more beginners vs experienced players?
I have a private party reserved for a 2 hr time slot. How do you guys handle multiple private groups?
Good question! When you purchase a 2 hr private reservation you’re buying the ability to play with just your group during the 2 hr period. This means after your done playing a game on the private field, a walk on party will alternate in and play their game. When their game is done then you’re group will be back on. Typically there are 10 minute breaks between games to account for players needing to refill on both air and paint.
